Taken at 7:06 this morning, or could be stated as 66 minutes after 6... I’m loving this vintage beauty on the Bund. Military? Nope. Appropriate for the watch? Maybe not, but I can’t help but feel a little bit ‘bad-ass’ with this on my wrist! 😉

I bought the strap on Ebay and I’m quite happy with it overall. I am not a fan of the gigantic buckle however, and I wonder if anyone has a suggestion for a Bulova version? Or at least something smaller than this monstrosity?

Edit: after posting this, I decided to check my back-up straps to see if any of them might happen to have a buckle that would fit and look better. I was shocked to discover just how bad my illness has gotten. I’ve seen others post pictures of many extra straps and I always thought “how do people get to that stage?”... and today I have to admit I’m getting there myself. DOH!

Edit 2: like a good boy, I’ve managed to solve my own problem with a back-up buckle from a Heuerville strap. Amazing how good such a trivial task can make me feel! 😉

I always end up grinding down these horrendous buckles with a bench grinder and then refinishing them with a file and Scotch-brite.

Huh, interesting. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind. My first thought was, "guess it's time to buy my first Panerai..." ::psy::

Foto's from yesterday.....Went with the Geneve today.
Next to the flightmaster the Geneve looks rather small. It is an exeptional dressy watch though....
