Today, this one. My 28-year old Rolex Date -Just. We’re headed for the mountains again, on Tuesday. I need a strong watch, which this one is. The sapphire crystal shows a few small chips, but the watch is completely original, except for the mainspring and gasket. Never polished, or “deluxed” in its 28 years. This has my #1 absolutely favourite dial ever, on any Rolex.
Back from a service (which was really about ensuring the seals were up to being out in the rain or through the shower) though I did have to fend off several attempts at "You need new CRYSTAL/HANDS/BEZEL and we won't warrant the WR of the watch if you don't." Well as I don't plan to saturation dive the watch in my lifetime I think I'll cope. Prior to service I'd been running the watch on a sharkmesh bracelet and this webbing strap is doing a good job of opening my mind to different possibilities.
1952 Steel Jumbo Seamaster ref. 2494 today. Just arrived from the seller - great patina and an allround fantastic watch!
Planet Ocean. Genuine Omega buckle came in for my aftermarket strap, I feel better about that as I was using a copy.
