Iffy wifi in the overnight accommodation grrrr! Guess I'll just watch this second hand sliding round...
Wow what a charming piece. Can you tell us something about the watch? Seamaster 60th today, with new gear for the gym/dojo
1960's Seaboard-Yacht Chronograph - Valjoux 7733, 3rd edition blue dial. Manufactured for & sold by Seaboard Marine Supply Co. out of Islip, NY on Long Island.
Hamilton calls their watches with the seconds feature, a “secometer”. Certainly unusual to find those two features in that orientation, on a wrist watch. I wonder how the manufacturer managed that.
I was surprised to see calendar in 1930's watch. Thanks to internets and David (website admin), I was able to identify the movement as MST 234: http://mirius.co.uk/Watch.htm?R0096 It is cylinder escapement, so not very precise. Simple and not very valuable. Medana was fashion brand as I learnt. But I fell in love with watch in moment I saw it. Such a shame case is so heavily polished, but the date dial, seconds disc and charming white framing makes the watch super cool. Especially if I realise it is from 1930s.
