My Speedmaster Professional has a caliber 863 movement in it. I just pulled it out of my vault to test how many turns of the crown it takes to wind it fully. It hadn’t been worn for months, so it was totally run down. It took 50 turns of the crown to wind it fully! It would seem to me as though your watch is little more than half wound at 30 turns. Might this be a contributing factor in its stopping! You might want to check with the shop that fixed it.

I suspect it’s more HOW you wind it. I have over a dozen Speedmasters, new and old. I automatically count as I wind them. Some go to 32 or 33 and some barely reach 30, given the way I wind them.

Perhaps you should test run the watch with the chronograph not functioning. If there is in fact a hang up in the chronograph system, you shouldn’t have a problem with the watch hanging up on you. It would also be a means of testing to see how long the watch runs with what you call a 30-turn full wind. I fail to see how my winding action could be sufficiently different to yours, to result in 20 more turns of the crown that I get.

Finally after 45 long, long days my Swedish Ammo Leather nato strap has arrived, originally I bought it for my Speedmaster Moonwatch, but I think It’s gonna look great in my Dynamic too! IMHO Kelinda Straps from Thailand are the best custom made straps...

My metal Seiko bracelet arrived last night for the Prospex. Looks like it should, now.

Waddaya say we finish out March with this thread?

First day back from vacation, and I knew which watch I wanted to wear:
