I like your Gruen very much. Linen dial ... yum! Don't know the term for the particular style of those numerals but love them. Seems like one sees the style frequently on watches out of the UK.

Thank you! It’s not perfect but the pristine linen dial is sublime. I’m with you on the numerals. It’s a mid-century watch with these smart, almost Art Deco numerals. Poor thing sat in a drawer for many years before and after I inherited it in 1987. In 2014 I took it for the first service in over 50 years, a new crystal and crown, and voila! It sparked my new interest in vintage watches.....and keeps excellent time, too.

I have worn this every day since July. I left all my other watches at home. I thought that only having one watch would drive me mad but I enjoy putting this on everyday. I have a few watches waiting for me when I get home including a speedytuesday but I think if I had to only have one watch then this would probably be the one.

I was in that boat - in early 2016 I bought my dial and hands, but I didn't buy the watch for my dial mod until last month.

I'm close to a deal and hope to get it done next week.
