Got my 145.022-74 ST back from my watchmaker, all serviced but without any polishing. It’s on a new Omega bracelet cause I’m bored with the 1171 it came with.
This is the watch I bought in a San Francisco pawn shop in 1982. I wore it every day for about five years, including the day my wife and I were married. This is the first time I had it serviced (!)
I opened it to see how the movement looks now.
It fascinates me that it’s a very low serial number for a -74, in fact TOO low a number for either of the 145-022-71 models, although completed earlier. The movement is in the -74 range, but it also fits into the -69 ranges.
I’m very pleased.
Needed a watch in a hurry last Sunday. Opened my vault, and this one surfaced. My $5.00 Seiko. Actually, I got it for free, but it didn’t run. I put a $5.00 movement into it, added a bracelet I paid very little for (I bought a 10 pound box of NOS steel JB expansion bracelets FOR $20.00). My only Seiko.
