Back home today after a couple of months enjoying exploring the south of France and just time for a quick snap of the 5513 which I confess saw more wrist time than any of the other travelling pieces
Wearing the 2365 earlier this week . . . . . . and the 2943 today. Waiting for the ALCS finale five hours from now . . . and maybe get some pool practice in before the game starts. Art
A little bit icy on the dock in the morning and icy boat followed by fog on the way then the sun came to my rescue a nice run to the Island with my trusty Lemania Cal. 5100 I think it is time to winterise both the boat and the Island and start looking at boots and skis P. S. Junior found ice on her boat this morning before going out to sail.
Got to spend the day where many a Speedmaster has passed through its hallowed halls. The is the hangar at Langley where the Gemini and Apollo astronauts would practice the docking maneuvers needed to land on the Moon. The orange crane mounted to the hangar ceiling would allow the rotation of the capsule along all three axis. The trusty Speedmaster in front of the original 1963 painted image of the Earth used for orientation. The crane used to maneuver the Gemini and Apollo capsules. Original image from 1967 of the Apollo capsule and Lunar Module docking training form 1967. More on the Rendezvous Docking Simulator here. Below you can can see the Gemini capsule and the Agena docking target to the left of the black screen.
