So I went fishing last week, and this is what I pulled on deck this afternoon. I totally blame all of you for this problem.
It's certainly had a well worn life. Archives show it was delivered to Mexico. Lots of heat and moisture and sweat applied
1969/70 1016 with a newly installed vintage T22 domed crystal ...something I’d been searching for over a year for, and is difficult to find at any price, much less a reasonable one. Enjoying the optical distortion and general way this catches the light versus the flat service crystal it was given by a RSC in 2012. Remarkably (or maybe not), it also passed a pressure test...not that I asked for one or plan on needing it. But nice to know!
It’s race weekend, so time for some Autavia action. Oh and caffeine. Lots and lots of caffeine. Conference calls with project managers who know as much as Jon Snow make me sleepy...
I cannot run with any of you here when it comes to great classic watches -- this is as close to vintage as I come. One of my first mechanical watches and trying it with a black rubber strap today (bending some rules maybe?)
