I took this watch out of the box to show someone a week or so ago. Seeing it on the side this morning I just had to wear it. There's not a lot of love for the model in high horology circles but seeing one in the flesh is guaranteed to make anyone smile. I don't usually post multiple photos in the WRUW thread but you have to see this from different angles ....

Nicest DS-2 I've seen! Does it have a textured turtle caseback?

Oh, and has anyone called dibs on this yet? Vintage Certina is awesome 馃憤

I believe this design surfaced during the era when Severin Wunderman owned the company. He of Gucci watch fame. Ahem, distinctive!

This little russian bird flew onto my wrist at a holiday flea market last weekend for an easy $20. Cool goldtone finish. Not a mark on it. Movement is clean as a whistle. Interesting position of crown..have to do more research.

I seem to recall that you're right .. and yes "distinctive" is a very diplomatic word. It's a polarising watch - you can't sorta like it, you either really like it or really don't but over the years I've shown it to a few people who have read about the watch and thought they hated it from photographs but everyone of them has smiled. It wears really well; it's a genuine "fun" watch and never really claims to be anything else. It will certainly never sit under a cuff at a boardroom table but everyone will notice it.
Edit: I'm not the only one fool enough to buy one: http://quillandpad.com/2015/10/06/why-i-bought-it-the-corum-bubble-vintage/
