I've been pulling duty on our centerpiece project lately due to some difficulties with welding the lift span. At least the view is good. These are from yesterday morning: From a couple of days ago. You can see one of the segments being rigged off a truck. They store them on a barge until they are reday for installation. Once ready, they go pretty quickly. Once installed, cables (tendons) are snaked between segments and tensioned, supporting the load. It's pretty heady stuff: Wearing this, but obviously I didn't take this photo at work: edit: I don't know why the photo is rotated. It was from yesterday am too.
