Reading an article on the Stones recording in the south of France, sounds like a hell of a good year in exile
Just arrived, this watch was a "must have" for me for Father's Day. My son, my only child, is named Davis. I hope this is a special heirloom for him when I can no longer wear it. 36mm stainless case, Landeron 48 inside.
Just acquired today. I stopped by a friend's jewellery store, and he wanted to give me a Swiss Hamilton Thin-o-matic movement for parts. Ten karat solid gold case, circa 47 years old. He indicated that the watch had sat in a drawer for decades, and he finally decided to scrap it. He had called his scrap guy, and the case was destined to go tomorrow. I told him I'd pay him what the scrap guy would pay for the case, PLUS I would pay him for the movement which he had given me. It will need some work, and the pig skin strap is only temporary. But I rather like it, in spite of the fact it looks a bit pokey on my 8" wrist.
