I was supposed to be going to the Rugby today... but my back and my hip have decided that it their tur to give me a kicking, since the fibromyalgia is at bay. So I'm afraid it's a jimjams and something to cheer me up day. Yes, this cheers me up. Fingers crossed I'm ok for Tuesday.
Nitpicking but the 321 was not made on the basis of any ebauche. It was made entirely in house by Lemania alongside the 2520 as completed movements. Patek, VC and a couple of others would purchase ebauches for their own modifications and completion. This was not the case for Omega. Being part of the same company, SSHI, it made no sense to ship incomplete movements between its subsidiaries. In many cases, but I am unable to state to what degree, the entire chronograph watches were completed at Lemania. We know this is true for many 1950s/60s Speedmasters. To what degree this is also the case for other references I guess we will never know. The Meylan posted is a Lemania watch all together. The case reference is the same. Originally they even came with a Lemania signed crown!
Waltham 1892 Appleton Tracy... chased this one for a while. and so, there were three! from the 1901 Eaton's catalogue: Waltham Appleton Tracy $18 "for the new model" in a nickel case Waltham CPR $20 in a nickel case Waltham Vanguard $30 in a silver case...
Although i'm on this forum for quite a while, it was more in read-only mode (aside from some heavy used private threads with some other Lemaniac's ) I will do my best to share my collection a bit more with the rest of world through this nice forum... My current collection is almost entirely build around the Lemania Caliber 3xxx. @Northernman and @tapaptpat share my Lemania passion and are always around to share their incredible Lemania knowledge! Kudos guys! On my wrist today another Lemania Super Compressor, this time with a linen dial.
