What's the deal with that leather strap? Something's odd about it.

It's a NATO "style", but it doesn't go around the back of the watch. It's cool, because it doesn't have that loop that sticks out, or has to be tucked in.
I didn't get a picture of the case back, but it has a very cool medallion inlay (a la, Constellation or Conquest) with Ernest Hemmingway's typewriter engraved on it, in 18k rose gold.
