Fun new arrival: Tainjin Seagull 1963 Re-Issue. Cal ST-19, which traces its lineage back 55 years to the Venus 175.



These are on Amazon all day, but while on a business trip, Mrs. Lou P picked this one up in China for me. She has family in Tianjin too, so there鈥檚 a bonus connection there.


There are several variants of this model, 19 vs 21 jewels, display vs steel back, 38mm vs 42 mm, blued pusher ends or not. My calipers actually measure mine at 37mm, has the steel back which I prefer, and the somewhat weird blued pusher ends.
