Since I happened to wear this 1942 Royal Air Force watch on the day of the Brexit vote, I guess it is kind of fitting that I should wear it today. Now also outfitted with a beautiful American strap made by @Myron. This watch always reminds me there is no substitute for people standing up for what's right.

I guess I'm not the only one who woke up this morning feeling rather uneasy. Today -- January 20th, 2017 -- has a palpable apocalyptic feel to me, probably why something deep in my subconscious prompted me to wear this watch. I sincerely hope my sense of impending catastrophe turns out to be entirely unfounded.

Spot of business travel today. Nothing like folding yourself into the middle seat of a 737 while wearing a business suit before the sun comes up!

Anyway, Carrera

New work watch has arrived and is being put into service today. I feel like I have this revelation every time I get a new Seiko about how totally freaking incredible they are. So much bang for your buck.

I have been super pumped waiting for this watch and thought of a little slogan/tag for me to use. 馃槑

Solid three-hander for the first afternoon of the weekend. Looking forward to spending quality time with my girlfriend and meeting up with a few people for a GTG on Sunday 馃榾

This was one of my first vintage purchases and (I believe) the only one I've done so far on OF. Shortly after getting it I had a stint of buyers remorse, as I realised that the price was in the high end of what these typically go for... Having said that, in nearly a year now I haven't come across a single other specimen for sale with the same fantastic dial patina and great marker combination for sale. And the rest of the watch isn't too shabby either. A sharp case, radium lume in perfect condition and the original crown still in place 馃榾

This is probably one of the keepers in my collection - because what should I ever replace it with? The old Rolls-Royce motto of "Quality remains long after the price is forgotten" certainly applies here.
