I really love the look of this one, too. The cream-colored dial is beautiful... and those markers..OMG! I think it's the same case, crown, and movement as my 'Healthways' divers:
Yes! Unfortunately, it was cloudy/rainy here for the full moon two nights ago, but it was clear and bright and almost full here for Sunday and Tuesday. Nice that you have a gorgeous watch (or two ) to help remind you! I was also looking for meteors, since the peak of the Geminids fell alongside the full moon this year. No luck with that, however, since the moon and city lights made it nigh impossible! Maybe someone else saw some Geminids? Years past they were spectacular (when the moon wasn't full )...
For a brief moment, the sun poked from the clouds, and dark green shimmers showed on the amazingly aged dial, but my stupid phone was a sec too slow..Regardless, a great watch in every way! P.S.: We'll deserved hat tip to @dougiedude!
My absolute favourite of modern retro chrono. I would, and hopefully will, own this watch. I think it's timeless!
Wearing two today. My 27-year old Date-Just which I recently serviced. As of today, 15-seconds fast in 21 days. But the picture is of my mid 1950s Certina rescued from years of heavy wear. Not my birth year watch. Much too new for that! Gladly, the original owner did major damage before the deterioration got any worse. It QUIT, and he put it into a drawer. Re-furbished dial, chrome plated the case, rotor post, mainspring, crystal, crown, conditioned. Looks and performs close to new. The movement is the venerable Kurth/Certina 25-45 which I consider to be on a par with many of the other prominent brand name movements in that era. Hamilton used this movement, and others may have as well.
Thank goodness we are still friends after these negotiations Christmas / Chanukah / new year lunch. At Shaws. Still in celebration mode for the full moon. Waiting for my party with a perfect Old fashioned.
Can't do it this time 'round, unfortunately, but I come here often enough that we should definitely do that in the not-too-distant future!
I had a blue '78 Chevy half-ton pick-up in college. Total babe magnet... when babes needed some furniture moved. After that it was all "thanks MMMD, you're such a good friend," as they drove off with some douche in a green MGB.
