So, I just now realized Speedy Tuesday . I wore my 'eldest' Speedy last night in between drooling over some 100-odd vintage Heuer's:
Still my latest, early 1950s 2577-5 with the caliber 351 bumper movement. Rescued from scrap- replaced case and dial, new (generic) crown, armoured crystal, replacement (Omega) hour hand, hand made case clamp, reconditioned. Excellent performer. The replacement dial has not been refinished, and has become a sort of antique white tone, fairly even, and vastly better than the original (damaged) dial. I may investigate restoring the badly damaged original gold shell case (2577-11). If I do, I might consider converting it back to the original case. The second one is my recently acquired '50s vintage bumper, also rescued from scrap! I have included a picture of it, though it is not presently on my wrist.
it was only made in limited quantities for forum members & all were spoken for I believe only 50 or 60 were made some were ordered with sapphire crystals and solid case back and some of us wanted acrylic and exhibition back like mine. Sent from Galaxy S6 Edge via Tapacrap plexi is SEXY
