As the saying goes, you never forget your first new Omega. Despite having a couple of fancier moderns, I still come back to this now and again. Hoping to get a black strap to give it a new lease of life and differentiate it from the other two.
It took me a little over a year to find a surplus Marine National elastic-strap for this issued Beuchat 1000m. Feels complete now. Forgive the light glare.
ref. 2639--wearing the 2 tone one today. BTW: there is a very nice later version of this case reference listed at the moment by member @marturx in the Private Watch Sales forum. Check it out if you haven't seen it.
Since last evening I'm wearing two of my favorite watch brands on one wrist: Heuer and Aquastar. This is a Heuer and Aquastar Regate, a yachting, well not really, chronograph. The button resets the seconds hand and the five minutes timer indicated by the five dots. The power for this reset operation comes directly from the button press. The automatic movement is a Felsa cal. 4000N, enhanced by the timer complication. I like the bold diver case and the dial showing colors between light silver and dark olive silver. No presentation of an Aquatimer watch without a shot of the back. Enjoy, Mick
Ahhh..that's a beaut indeed! It was once my favourite watch but I had to let it go to keep body and soul together. I still have the "other" transitional but with sapphire...Wearing this late serial 16800 matte today. Cheers,
