I have tried a thick blue carbon fiber strap, but ultimately went back to the OEM nylon strap, which was more comfortable. The bracelet is just too heavy for me to wear for long periods comfortably.

2016 will be greeted with my 145.012. There will be no fancy party for us. Just me, Mrs. Darlinboy and a bottle or two of Dom.

For New Year's Eve I switched to a dressy watch:

This is an IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, ref. 5021-17, one of 20 made for the Pisa Orologeria in Milano.

The case crafted in White Gold measures 44 mm in diameter.

I hope that the 5 will jump in a few hours, together with all other calendar indications.

The IWC cal. 50611 is an 8 days automatic movement with Kurt Klaus' perpetual calendar mechanism on the dial side.

    Happy New Year,

    Mick

My office is eerily quiet this afternoon, with most co-workers on vacation or bailing out early. I think it's time for me to bail, too :)

I wish each of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

It will be a quiet evening at Chez Garv. We will most likely spend some time racing the slot cars (a very safe way to drink and drive). In order to track lap times, I switched to this one
    speedy 12.15.jpg

And this is what happens when I spin into Mrs Garv's lane (she runs me down) :)

Late 70s Sicura Globetrotter. This is the company that resurrected Breitling back in the 70s and continued as Breitling.
