Seamaster 300 with a difference 馃榿

I had a 565 movement and Seamaster dial and hands which I had planned to make into a Seamaster 300 but I was too late to buy a case before Omega practically doubled their price. So while looking for a suitable replacement for the last few months, I came across a 166.073 case in very good condition (often called Seamaster 120 Deep Blue). I've always found the dial of this model a bit fussy but it has a nice big case which fits the 565 movement. The result is what you see here, the bezel is actually dark blue as is the strap 馃憤

It should make a nice change from my 552 Seamaster 300

Great looking project! I've been sitting in the same boat searching for a case that seems to be going up and up in price.

Thanks. I couldnt justify to myself spending 拢1000+ on a SM300 case and the 166.073 case makes a nice change from the SM300 in its shape, slightly bigger and 22mm lug width. It actually uses all the same parts as the SM300 (crown, crystal, gaskets) but was a bit of a leap of faith that the dial would work well in the case.
Very happy with the result 馃榾

Enicar's signature features are there: sculptured lugs, bold hands, lollipop seconds hand, red black checkered GMT hand, lume rhomb, maximum number of different fonts on the face 馃榾.

I wonder what the "PT950" on the back means?

Well, you know how stainless steel is the new platinum? PT950 is the old stuff. 馃槈

Congrats, it's a stunner!
