I don't generally starfcuk. But, I'll totally make an exception for Tony Hawk (easily one of the top 10 coolest guys on the planet!!). He's a dear friend of my best friend and tonight we finally got to MEAT up. Hung out in my joint and had a blast...hit it off like frick and frack. It's hard for dudes to make new friends after 40 but we already made plans to go out again! Lulzzzz...how bada$$ is that??

Tony Hawk and my cheap-o Citizen...
What watch does Mr Hawk have?

I hope I'm not boring you with these early Autavias …

Pure racing: this is a Heuer Autavia ref. 2446T, 2nd execution, driven by a Valjoux cal. 72.

I like the almost equal shades of beige color on the hands and on the sub dials.

The brushed case flanks are not correct, they will get polished (in the best sense of the word).

Have a nice Sunday,

Mick

'42 Elgin USN "Canteen"

soldered in tempered glass crystal... you don't want to damage the damn thing because nobody seems to know how to replace it properly.

they're actually surprisingly affordable, nobody really wants an A anymore (A freind of mine figures the young guys that lusted after them have all passed on)

And pretty much every piece is available new. A few years back there was company in western Canada assembling them from new parts and selling them, dunno how they got around the Ministry of Transport on that one, maybe they were recycling old serial numbers.

I recently viewed a '29 "A" sedan which was all original, except for rear seat upholstery. It hasn't been painted by the owner, so I believe the paint to be original. Same family has owned it for 63 years. Don't know the mileage, but low. Owned by a watch and clock collector who recently passed away. The wife doesn't drive it. He swapped a Rambler station wagon for it, all those years ago. The Rambler has likely ended up as rebar, by now.
