Hi everybody. I'm wearing my Under Pressure 2. I bought it because I usually hate the colour orange, and this looked beautiful to me. No other reason needed. As the same suggests, it's designed to look like a pressure gauge.
Just another early Heuer Autavia: This is the first Autavia with a date indication, ref. 7863C, driven by a Valjoux cal. 7732. The face shows the earlier design: plain hands and indices without black inserts. Cheers, Mick
My Dad has one of those! He once soldered the crown back on when it pulled of its stem..... how it still ran after that heat treatment amazes me...... yes its since been fixed.
OMG @Mad Dog is off Dunkin! Quick we need 10,000ccs of caffeine. That was the most unMaddog post ever.....kick a $# watch though
That's a big negatory...still on Dunkin'...see pic below from earlier today...thanks for the compliment regarding my Hour Angle [a modernized replica]...I've had it for almost 20 years...AND I'm grateful that I don't have to actually use it for navigation...
Today I'll probably wear one of these two: Both came to me by chance; one was found in a thrift store (the Tissot) and the other came by asking at a shop where they purchase gold for smelting, if they had had any watches handed in - this one was on a solid gold band, and therefore taken in, despite being "only" a common gold capped Constellation. Today they both returned from a trip abroad to my watchmaker (I use the same as a number of Scandinavian watch enthusiast, namely Christian or Mitka at watchguy.co.uk), both ready for a second life as a part of my collection. I realise that it was stupid money to service the Tissot, as I'll never recuperate the costs when selling it (eventually), but I couldn't bear not giving it a bit of love - it was sorely needed. Also, I think the design is really nice! Perhaps I'll switch to my newest watch later on - the Torgoen T81, which I won in a contest. Surprisingly comfortable on the wrist, attracts compliments like you wouldn't believe it (!), and - get this - extremely precise. For the last few days, it's had a daily deviation of roughly +/- 2 seconds, currently it's at +1 second for the last two days… That's pretty good in my book!! Old photo:
At some point in the future not now as I have an incoming Seamaster, I must get a Smiths. Need to start doing my home work on them. Very nice.
