Continuing with my early Heuer Autavias …

… this morning I refreshed my Orvis Solunagraph by mounting a new Giuliano strap. The strong color intensifies the blue sectors of the shiny sub dials.

Resembling the Heuer Autavia ref. 2446C, this watch is the first execution of an Orvis labeled variant of the Heuer Mareographe, ref. 2446SF, also distributed as Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer.

The movement is a modified Valjoux cal. 72. The running second sub dial got substituted by a moon dial which indicates major & minor feeding periods of fish, birds, game. Same moon dial can be set to indicate semi-diurnal high and low tides. (Quotations from the user's manual). The moon display can be adjusted using the pusher on the left side.

In the evening I had to substitute this special watch by another moon watch which just came in …

    Cheers,

    Mick

That is one of the best examples I've see in a very long while. If you ever tire of it... ;)

Today I received one of my few long-term dream watches, the Universal Genève Tri-Compax, ref. 881101/02.
