I was just joking about it being made for trips to Alaska. I have a little history with Speedmasters.

Heuer Autavia 1163 GMT 1970's

The hands make me think of Fruit Loops with those pastel-ish colors.

(That's a good thing. 👍 )

Howdy pardners. I just joined the hoe down, and my avatar is what I'm wearing today. Apparently it was made for special expeditions to Alaska, USA, Earth.
Always loved that watch - welcome to the club

So Elroy's Speedmaster may not have been made for the snow but that's where mine is today

Temporary switch, 1967 cal 321

Definitely needs a service though. Crown stem slightly bent, as is minute hand. Hour chrono hand doesn't reset, non-signed crystal & it looks like there is a missing gasket between dial and movement. Pushers have verdigris on stems too.

On the plus side, all that is easily fixed, dial is good, caseback looks unpolished (but worn) and bezel scratches which looked bad in sellers photos are hardly visible in real life. Think this will clean up nicely and suit an Omega rally strap like Alam has 😁

Datachron Chronodiver, 1969-70, (also discussed here). I believe this is the only early 3019 PHC (El Primero) - apart from the tonneau cases - that did not incorporate a new case design... more circumstantial evidence for placing it among los primeros de Los Primeros. 😀

Not sure I agree with you that these cases are carryovers - I see them as fresh designs for Movado's diver line in 1969 - but I do think this model was among the first of the Datachrons.
