It’s hard to beat. 166.009, with rare sunburst dial and arrowheads. This is the only example I know to exist with lume and a crosshair.

Celebrating a milestone this month - been with the same company for 25 years, so it seemed appropriate to wear a watch that has been a presentation watch. The first owner got it after 25 years of service - between 1942 and 1967 - back in the day when gifts of gold watches were the norm for such a jubilee. Times sure have changed!

Hamilton had quite a nifty setup for this kind of watches. They used retired models (in this case, the model was called "Brockton" - it was originally available in 1953 and 1954, but the design was a close echo of the "Brock" - which was produced between 1939 and 1952) for their Award Watches, which had the advantage that the person who was gifted such a watch couldn't simply walk into a store and see how much it cost. Not putting a price sticker on a gift, which seems to me a discreet and subtle way to handle such a situation.

What's nice about this one is also that the design of the watch echoes the time the first owner started his job, but it was still "new" in 1967. Even though it certainly was an "echo from the past" even then.
