My original vintage watch, acquired in the early 1980s. Really looked out of style on my wrist at the office in the face of the Rolex Datejusts and Presidents popularly worn in banks in Texas back then. Tag Heuer was coming on strong in the market about that time as well and the young bucks went for them. Still, I loved to sport it about, with its fairly substantial solid 18kt gold case.
The fancy lugged case is of green gold, which is a thing. A different hue when placed with the other yellow gold and rose gold watches on hand here.
Glycine must have focused on a completely different market in the 1940s snd 1950s, before the introduction of the Airman. Now the name is lumped in with Invicta, but it once wasn’t so.
