Landed after four days in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Weather okay. Rain all the way to our site, but fair to good for the time there. Except for a brief but startling thunder storm on Thursday afternoon. Back home, I have parked the sacrificial Seiko, and donned my 23 jewel Gruen automatic from the late 1950s, after Gruen stopped manufacturing their own movements. This one has a German-made Durowe movement in it. The case is gold shell over stainless. Decades ago, I offered it for sale. Thankfully nobody bit.

97F just now which is normal here for early July. I’m not certain that I am as up to heavy lawn work at these temperatures as I once was.

It’s cooling down this evening. It’s only 99F with 107F after the humidity. Summer is definitely NOT one of my favorite seasons.

Definitely dive watch weather. Going outside in that humidity, especially from air conditioned buildings, can cause some serious moisture.

Some old watches may not handle it that well.

I’ve been wearing my Baltic for any outdoor activities.

But tomorrow for the Fourth of July I will show the Illinois.
