Hi-Yo, Silver! Away!

Lovely. Is that a 198.030 with a cal 1250? I have an almost identical watch - I haven’t seen another before 😀

Thanks! No it’s a reference: 168.056 from 1972 with a "fast-beat" cal 1011. The interesting thing about it and why I was drawn to it was the swapped ‘order’ of the dial layout (Omega logo at the bottom). Supposedly this was done to better balance the dial relative to the hour markers and date window. You can find a lot of these on the Japanese market which makes me think it was designed specifically for them.

Yours is lovely and very similar but with a far less temperamental caliber.

Busy day clearing out my garage so that I could fit my vintage back in to join it's stable mate, winters coming and I don't like the thought of damaging engines with ice expansion in the motor ( no antifreeze at the moment ) plus the security risk of leaving it outside as it difficult getting parts for 100 year old cars!
