Today, and for the next few days, my 60-year old Bulova Accutron 218 model with the 24-hour dial. Three of us are preparing for “Supertrain 2026” during which we exhibit (mostly) railroad standard wrist and pocket watches, and railroad standard clocks. This show features mostly model railroad exhibits, art, and hobby suppliers. Our exhibit has been part of this show for about 35 years, and is always appreciated by about 15,000 attendees over the week end.

April 25 and 26 event date?

It is nice to get back home to a simple wind-up mechanical watch that needs me after wearing a quartz watch for several days that pretends it doesn’t need me.

Exactly. CMRS (Calgary Model Railroad Society) Supertrain 2026, held at the Olympic Oval. The biggest show of its type in Canada. Not to be missed!

Warmest day of the year so far at 25C in town.

And this is the first time the lume has absorbed enough energy to be visible in dim light.

Within a 20 minute walk from my house, I'll definitely try to make it Doug

Just back from a looooong service after this one had developed the date wheel problem. So far so good. I used Budget Accutron Service out of Michigan.

This cheap drone got up to 400ft. I can maintain control at that height but 350 feet seems to be the max for photos. I’m wondering how high it can actually go. Flying at my buddies place after work. If i recommend these to anyone just ignore me I think they are another addiction albeit a cool one.
