Time for a pocket watch to pop up in this thread. My Ball ORRS 21-jewel, grade 999, in its 20th century Ball case. This not the correct movement for a Ball 20th Century case. An original Ball 20th Century model would have had a 23-jewel movement in it. Basically a Hamilton grade 950. When I acquired this watch, the movement was in a case that originally had a Waltham Vanguard movement in it. In my collection at that time, I had this 20th Century case with a Waltham Vanguard movement in it! So, a quick switcheroo, and I had a Waltham in a Waltham case, and a Ball in a Ball case! The movement in this watch is basically a Hamilton 992 model with plate design by Ball. Unfortunately, some sop had a name engraved on the case back before I bought it. Grrrrr! But I like it. Worn on my @DaveK mystery braid lanyard which are a challenge to fit to this particular stirrup bow.

In addition to my Ball ORRS pocket watch shown above, I’ll also wear my “survivor” Bulova Accutron 214 Astronaut, today. Bought as salvage at a salvage price 40 years ago, it needed so much work that I never bothered with it, until recently. I recently acquired a treasure trove of Accutron movements, parts, cases, dials, etc. I had unsuccessfully endeavoured to return the original movement to health. So I decided to replace the movement. I had numerous complete 214 movements. I serviced one and fitted it to the case. Converting a bog stock 214 movement for use as an Astronaut is a simple matter of transplanting parts of the dial train. Compared to Astronauts that appear in this thread, this one is not a prime example, but it runs well and is reliable. Fitted with a Kreisler ”coffin link” bracelet with an Accutron logo on the buckle. Just short of 60 years old.
