Pour that one yourself, Jim ? 馃槈
A switch to near autumn like weather here in mid-coast Maine. Low 70 degree temps now brings out different watches as compared to the mid 90鈥檚 of last week.
Even there? I鈥檓 in southern Alberta, Canada, north of Montana, and am noticing the changeover here too. Depressing it is because friggin winter isn鈥檛 far off. If only California was our 11th province馃槈

I heard our weather here in Maine is related to the hurricane. There are leaves already changing, however, so yeah, the fun is coming to an end.

A brief stay-at-home-holiday gives me a good reason to put another oldster on my wrist, this time my oldest (working) wristwatch ... an Elgin from their E-series (started in 1927), the model is called E-9 and this one dates to 1930.

I'll need to source a new hairspring some time, as the old one is a bit bent - so timekeeping is bordering on okay-ish, only. Compatible hairsprings are from the 428, 430, and 489 movements, I'll keep an eye out.

From Pforzheim with love 馃榿馃榿

My Laco sends salutations. Not a lot of the brand pop up on the OB. Laco began using Swiss made movements, switching to German made movements during WWII. Mine has a German made Durowe movement. Both movement and dial on my watch marked as FOREIGN, owning to negative feelings toward Germany after WWII.

After midnight and all is well, seemed to have survived the worst of Covid. Just need to beat the fatigue it's left me with, onward and upward!

Had this returned from my watchmaker after repairs and service and it was doing well + 6 daily rate which was working out well, wore it a week or so and suddenly the daily rate jumped ( 70 to 87 seconds) in all positions so back for a closer look, now returned at a much better rate.

11th province-LOL.
The shift to autumn weather is usually rather swift here, and often coincides with the kids going back to school/Labor day here in the states. The crickets began chirping their fall songs in the evenings late last week. Weakly at first, but now on full song. and watching the sunrise shift its point further south day by day. Yep. The slide towards autumn sure has begun. But autumn鈥檚 my favorite season.
