Irrational, I know, but it has been some time since I have worn a bumper automatic. So I decided I’d cure the itch by putting on my mid 1950s “survivor” Omega bumper automatic, calibre 351. I call this one a survivor because it appeared to me that its previous owner had done everything in his power to destroy it! As you see it, the case has been changed to a period correct Omega case, replacement (better) dial, crystal, crown (generic), hand made case clamp, mainspring, and a thorough service. Hardly a grail watch for an ardent Omega collector, but it continues to amaze me at its performance.
Good Morning….finding the enjoyment of posting again…I’ve had a rough year or so over coming the word that most men my age don’t like to mention but after surgery and help from friends and family and a truly incredible wife of over 40 years I’m finally getting back on track…and vintage watches are a huge part of who I am so today is a lovely 1970’s Seiko…
