The best way to spend Saturday. A quality watch and a quality newspaper. @JimInOz and other vets, I hope you had a good ANZAC Day. Jim, the lead piece in The Saturday Paper is a very good article on PTSD amongst vets. Worth a read.
Day 9 with WWW British Military 1945 watches. Cyma, Timor, Omega, Eterna, Buren, Lemania , Record and Vertex done. Last up of my 9 out of the dozen is Jaeger LeCoultre. Surprisingly the one out of the WWW watches with perhaps the poorest case finish and overall design. The cal 479 movement is however very nice. HAGWE!
Let me help , from my watchmaker bench, NOS OEM crown just set up (thanks to John@obsoletwatchparts ) ... ready to collect and wear \o/ Meanwhile ...
Fresh from the good ladies watch box via a bracelet dip in the ultrasonic, at least i'm allowed a few hours of wrist time for my efforts
My last few buys have had a decidedly martial theme. Pure purpose-specified and -built tool watches. Here a Vixa type 20, issued in the early '50s to the French air forces, Hanhart caliber 42, flyback chronograph.
Back on the road with the Exp II, and on our way to Seoul, got the opportunity to see some new Omega models on the flesh while killing time at the terminal...don't think Japan is the perfect place to buy new watches.
