Day 7 with WWW British Military 1945 watches. Cyma, Timor, Omega, Eterna, Buren and Lemania done. Today its Record day! Record who? In the words of Hartmut Richter: "Record Dreadnought S.A: In 1944, the first watches with hammer automatic movements were introduced, rotor automatics in 1952. Longines acquired Record in 1961". The in-house 15 jewel Cal. 022-K provides a Breguet hairspring, screwed alloy balance, and the bridge supporting the wheel train has been split into three cocks, making this the most elaborate and probably the finest simple movement Record ever manufactured. HAGD! (Pictures are pre-service as the bloody iPhone still refuses to take pictures).
Fabulous watch, I had one from new. Like an idiot I sold it years ago. Never mind, someday will get one again. This looks great lovely watch.
Wearing one of my favourite watches today. My local jewlerers wanted to clear old stock and recommended retail new price £299 had been reduced to £180, after bending his ear a bit got it for £140. Love the detail on the dial, it has a sapphire glass.
Tracking Tahiti time today Hadn't worn this in a while, forgot how the date set worked, had to look in manual (advance independent hour hand past midnight repeatedly)
This circa '72 Eterna-matic cal 12824 was in the middle box in Monday's triple box opening >> https://omegaforums.net/threads/omg...-packages-aka-longines-indulgence-plus.24274/ It came with the original, signed metal bracelet, very thin, that's really easy to adjust; no link removal necessary... Almost like a strap!
