My city was evacuated due to the wildfires in Los Angeles. The city adjacent to ours was decimated by the Eaton Fire. I bought a 1498/840 bracelet right before the fires to complete my Apollo 11 35th Speedmaster Pro mod and didn't know how long or even if it would arrive. The bracelet arrived today, early, the day after we returned home.

Several threads have popped up recently in which erratic timekeeping of a number of Speedmasters have been discussed. I haven’t worn my Speedmaster for several months. So I decided I would dig it out and set it, and see how it performs in comparison. It has the gold plated calibre 853 movement in it, and it is 34 years old. I serviced it myself about one year ago. Model 345.0808. I don’t obsess with timing machine results. I just put it on and wear it. It is usually within about 30 seconds a week.

5 seconds fast in 3 days, or about 12 seconds fast in a week. Not good enough for some, but okay for me.
