16610 still, since I received it. This time on a darker Italian leather strap to keep it fresh! (Sorry for bad lighting and smeared crystal)

This just landed.

I remember when I used to see these in my early collecting days I used to think they were bogus because who would put a whirly propeller on a watch dial? I thought it was like the tanks and skulls and submarines those Ukrainian pocket watch converters slapped on their creations. But I was mistaken - Those crazy Swiss boys!

A newly acquired grail strap for me. A first generation red twin-pad X-33 strap...on a Gen 1 X-33 of course.

I've been looking for a good one for years. Problem is they weren't rugged. The padding cracked and I've read even bled their dye onto the wearer, so I pretty much had to find one that hadn't been worn for 15 or 17 years.

Mine may look good, but has become so stiff I don't dare bend it around to buckle it for fear it will crack. Just for looking and collecting...but I'm happy with that!

Here are some ads/literature with that strap from around the time the model was launched in 1998 as "The Mars Watch".

WOW! Can I ask where it came from? Also a grail for me but if it behaves as badly as my OEM black one (replaced twice by Omega in the first year I had the watch) might just be best to look at yours!

It just popped up as a high priced buy it now on ebay about 2 weeks ago. I've been looking at all X-33 listings on ebay for the last 6 years looking for this darn thing. Two or three came up with watches, actually fairly recently for some reason, but the straps weren't in as good a condition. Then this one showed up and I pounced.

Same as yesterday, different strap
I had the same watch for about 3 months - tried it on about 8 different straps, then decided it looked better back on the bracelet, then traded it for a 1675 (part exchange). Now I miss it. What's up w that ?! 馃え

Posting this again today, just cause. Going on vacation and have to leave the good ones behind.
