….. Not had a good time over the last couple of years so not been here much. Had the all clear from cancer at the back end of last year, now just tested every couple of months. In January this year my wife and I were going out for an evening meal to celebrate my birthday and the all clear when we were involved in an accident on the M3 when we were hit by a truck, which pulled into our lane and apparently didn’t see us! The resulting collision with the concrete central barrier destroyed my beloved A5. We were both battered a bruised but otherwise OK. Here’s hoping for a better 2025! Happy Christmas to all. 🎅🏻

I wondered where you were. I’m sorry that you’ve had a ‘difficult’ year but glad things seem to be looking up.

Best wishes to you for 2025

Retrieved the Aqua Terra from the safe for the Christmas holiday, it doesn’t get out much. Not had a good time over the last couple of years so not been here much. Today, and likely until after New Year’s Eve, my 70 year old (approx.) Omega date at 6 bumper automatic with calibre 355 movement. My late father was a watchmaker/jeweller. I inherited the residue from his business which included a lozenge tin with a Dymo label on it, listing the contents as”Omega parts”. He passed away almost 50 years ago. I rarely opened that tin, but about 5 years ago, I was looking for a centre wheel for a bumper automatic, for a friend. I had the one he needed in that tin, but I also discovered this dial! Further delving resulted in my finding the entire calibre 355 movement (but no case), in pieces, in that tin! I serviced it, and put it aside. I later was contacted by a chap in Madrid, Spain, (thanks again @Tritium), who sold me the case the movement is now in. Don’t ask for dibs on this one. @Tritium owns dibs on this treasure!

My first Hamilton 992B from very nice a pleasant transaction with @TexOmega

Really delighted with it, and wearing it on a @DaveK lanyard 😀

Oooooh! Nice! I hadn’t thought of wearing a pocket watch over the festive season, but what not? Be back shortly!
