This one hasn’t appeared here for a long time, so it’s about time. I resurrected a friend’s Gruen bumper automatic recently (I won’t let the cat out of the bag by showing it, here). After testing the Gruen on the wrist for several days, I kinda missed it. So this early 1950s bumper with the date at 6, is back on the wrist. I discovered this “waffle” dial in a lozenge tin of bumper automatic parts where it had languored for nearly 50 years. Checking further, I discovered that the REST of the calibre 355 movement was there as well. In
