One of two today. This one came to me from a jeweller in a”barter” deal. He acquired it from his grandfather’s estate. His grandfather (deceased) acquired it from someone who (consciously or otherwise) had nearly destroyed it. He demolished the gold filled case, ruined the dial, and abandoned it in useless condition. But the calibre 351 bumper automatic movement would not die! I located a better dial for it, in my stash which also yielded an Omega stainless steel case for it, I cleaned it and replaced the mainspring, one hand, gasket, crystal and crown (both generic), and I now have a good runner that is very reliable. Some may call this a “franken”, although it is all Omega except the crown and crystal, and a fabricated case clamp. But considering I brought it back from the brink of becoming a “donor” watch, I don’t care! I like it.
