An Aviator GMT and 20 atm Divers wristwatch ...

ZODIAC Aerospace GMT Automatic cal. 75
21 jewels, with hr/min/sweep and 24hr hand, power reserve 40hr. based on the manual wind caliber AS 1687. Watchcase type: 20 atm Snap down Hermetic.

Zodiac was once a formidable competitor to many manufacturers of tool watches such as Rolex, Omega or Blancpain. The company is built based on both criteria: quality and quantity.

In the 50s and 60s, the company always kept its commitment to bringing the best value to users. The tagline “double the time for your money” – referring to the ability to track two time zones – was used in the original Aerospace GMT line ad along with illustrations that look like adventure comics. popular at that time. The watch line created a huge buzz at the time it was launched

With the GMT bezel coated with bakelite (resin), which was the most advanced technology at that time, it was great to be able to enjoy a bezel design with unique colors and still perfect after more than half a century of the watch's existence.

Along with the Blancpain Fifty Fathom and the Rolex Submarine, the Zodiac Seawolf was one of the first diver's watches produced.

BELIVE IT OR NOT ...

The watch you see here was once a direct competitor to the Rolex GMT master 6542.

Ha ha I’ve been struggling with a little pain so my MD gave me gabapentin which made me unable to walk straight. It’s 60 degrees today was planning on hiking with some friends but they pulled up to get me only to see me come out and walk like a drunk to their car.
I didn’t know how bad the stuff hit me but we were going to follow a ravine to a waterfall and although annoyed at first I agreed I was in no shape to go.

Passed quick so I took my own little hike. As you can see even Rocky disapproves thinking I’m drunk

Edit: gabapentin isn’t a controlled drug not a drug of abuse but it’s also worthless for pain just makes you drool

Today is one of those rare days when I wear my 90-year old Rolex Prince Observatory duo-dial “doctor’s watch”. Too fragile for any type of wear except for leisurely casual wear. I’m the second owner. My late father bought it in the early 1930s, and it was his daily driver for a decade or so. He ran a hole-in-the-wall jewelry/watch repair shop from the mid-1940s, but by this time, the Rolex was semi-retired. He was wearing Bulova watches by the time this one was put aside. He often loaned it out when he was repairing a customer’s watch! This is the only watch of its type I have ever seen that has 18-jewels, and adjusted to 6-positions. Movement made for Rolex and Gruen, by the Swiss firm Aegler. Unfortunately, a gold filled case.
