Forgive me for showing this one for the umpteenth time. My 1971 Rolex Air-King-Date that I won in a Rolex sales contest in 1971. It came with the steel bezel, but in 2021, I modded it by fitting a NOS 14-karat gold genuine Rolex bezel. I’d had the bezel for decades, and I don’t recall how I came by it. It was in the factory package, and the price (decades old) was $575.00! I decided to commemorate the 50th anniversary of my ownership of the Rolex by making it a Golden Anniversary Rolex. Bracelet is aftermarket. In 1980, I let my (then) 9-year old son wear it because he kept wrecking the watches I gave him. He broke the stem, crystal, rotor post, and destroyed the Oyster bracelet in a few months. I took it away from him!
