Chose the big Hamilton 946 from 1908 for the first day of 2024. It looks like a fireworks show when the movement is exposed.

It's so big that it won't even fit in the watch pocket of my Carhart jeans so occupies the right pocket.

I hope I read the S# correctly. If there is a watch I consider a grail watch, it is the Hamilton 946.

You're right. I was off by a year. Now I recall that it was made the year after my grandmother on my mother's side was born.

2nd day with this Roamer, have had it about 4 years and not really ever worn it since it came back from its initial service back in 2019 but just the last few days was struck by its classic and solid lines, watch hasn't changed so I guess my appreciation has.

Six year olds find attachment in the funniest things.
