Bulova had some of the best watch advertising back in the late 60’s and early 70’s! - 1969 Caravelle Sea Hunter (by Bulova) Ref. 41585 - powered by Carvelle Signed 11DP (Citizen 0241) 17J manual wind movement. Fitted on the "HOLY GRAIL" of Caravelle bracelets, the full coffin link by Bulova with Caravelle signed clasp! Not overly expensive back in 1969 at $29.95, but supercool to see this Playboy advertisement which references picking one up at the PX!

Long time since I’ve added to this thread - wearing the first watch I bought this year (back in early Jan), a 1987 DA 145.022.

Perusing this years sad showing of Runner Beans, they tend to be perennial and I haven't had to plant any new ones in the last 4 or 5 years.

Evening change for me. Finally had the time to adjust and install the BoR on my 1964 Dan Henry. 2 links out and it is perfect.

A post by @bristnj earlier today - a very handsome Caravelle “Sea Hunter” with original coffin link Caravelle bracelet and period advertisement - motivated me to delve into the Caravelle box.

The late 1960s Sea Hunters were beautifully proportioned thin dive watches that really hug the wrist. I picked up this 1969 Sea Hunter “in pieces” a few years back, complete except for hands. I was fortunate to find a date correct NOS 11DP movement with correct hands which I bought for “beer money” to complete the watch.

Sea Hunters are definitely worth adding to your collection if you run across one…you won’t be disappointed. While Caravelle was Bulova’s “budget” brand, relying primarily upon Japanese movements to keep costs down, they did from time to time power models with Swiss movements. There are Sea Hunters having a Swiss automatic movement…a very nice and collectible timepiece.

Cheers!
