The 16mm strap turned up for this little Korean War era Wittnauer yesterday... Would have been rude not to!

Nice watch. Do you know the name / caliber for the movement?

I'm not sure you even care but I use German "Bund" straps for these 32mm cased military type watches. I have pretty big wrists so it creates a nice little optical trick and makes the watch seem bigger. Now, if only I could figure a way to make other 'things' look bigger I'd be set.

Cheers Rich!

It's an 11ES, which is based on the ETA1080 series of movements. (Few more pics here: http://omegaforums.net/threads/wittnauer-11es-mil-spec.21757/)

Love the "Bund" straps, but also love how minimal and small this feels on the wrist - I spend a lot of my day working on a MacBook Pro, so a thin, soft strap that doesn't bang on the aluminium is a plus 😁

That's a nice strap and great idea - where did you get that one from if you don't mind my asking?

Lovely. Of course you need a loupe to read the dial!
Actually reading glasses suffice quite well.

Officer's edition

I really like that reference, how do you like it now that you've had it a while?

I like it. It is on a Jurgens pilot strap where it looks good, however the lugs don't facilitate thick straps, a light color Horween might be ideal.

Moved this one over to an isofrane strap. It works okay. Still not having any luck finding an original type dial. May just end up getting a new service dial (slight spotting on current dial) and I also need to add correct second hand.
