This model was introduced in 1980, and it the first Speedmaster with a sapphire case back
Exact, but this one in the picture is not that one...

Funky Friday with this color changeling
Your 166.0141 is a beauty. What bracelet and end links do you have on it? I'd love to get the same for the grey dial that my brother inherited from our grandfather.

>I will answer my own question. I see that @OneTwo posted earlier that the bracelet is a 1206/673. They look fantastic.

A weird duck in the Home For Wayward Watches gets a day out on the morning walk. A 1950s endeavor from a now defunct manufacturer of business machines? Who knows? Gold filled and with a A. Schild automatic movement under the hood. Keeps time nicely.

A possible connection! In 1979, Sperry corporation sold Remington Rand to Victor Kiam. Kiam bought the Remington razor division of Sperry because he liked the razors so much. Kiam also owned the Benrus Watch Co.! Could be Kiam was also involved in the “Remington Rand” watch?

It might help to date the Remington Rand watch if we knew what movement is in it. Victor Kiam bought Benrus in the early 1960s, and Remington Rand in 1979. Could this Remington Rand watch be from circa 1979, and not the 1950s? Since Kiam owned Remington Rand, he had every right to use the name on a watch,
