Recently, I showed my Speedmaster 345.0808, and mentioned I was planning on parking it for a week because of an impending camping trip. I only have one beater watch, a Seiko I got for free. But the cell is dead, and besides, it was time for a change to something that hadn’t seen the light of day for a while. So for the next week, my Gruen 23-jewel automatic is it. This one has a German-made Durowe movement in it. Only one I’ve ever seen. This one is probably from the late 1950s, and it was a quality watch in it’s day. The case is gold shell over stainless steel.

Hey and good morning OF, Had an awesome day with Thing 1 and Thing 2 yesterday. I love where we live; an incredible synthesis of city things and easy access to outside. On a walk/hike with the Things yesterday came across this solitary pink lady’s slipper, Cypripedium acaule.
