·I hope I look this good at 87! - 1936 Asprey braded art-deco style tank watch from Asprey of London, an iconic British luxury brand. The champagne dial features fancy black "exploding" Arabic numerals, reminiscent of similar Rolex and Cartier pieces from the same era. Its beautifully balanced with a subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and fine blued steel fuseaux hands. The case is signed GS (sponsors mark), hallmarked Glasgow 1936 and numbered. It is powered by a Swiss made, 15 Jewel manual wind movement. Overall, a lovely piece to have in the collection, especially as these types of watches gain in popularity due to their elegant and whimsical dials.
