I know those guys. They went to school with my little brother. I can't not think of them as punk kids.
Went to a "Linn Lounge" event last night at my audio pusher...featured Fleetwood Mac music and presented by a Linn rep from Scotland. I can't say I'm a real fan of their more popular stuff, but back in their early days they were very good (Peter Green era in particular). Much of the music was in studio master quality, so it was fun and well done. As the presenter was giving some history of the band, I did kinda feel like I was watching a "Behind the Music" episode on VH1 though...but that band is one big sap opera anyway I suppose.
Just got this remaster ...Piper At The Gates Of Dawn... primitive Floyd. Pretty cool. Amazing in surround zone.
I pre ordered the new FJM album that was announced today. God's Favorite Customer out June 1st I didn't expect a new album quite so quick but I'm not complaining.
Imagine early Elton John but with cutting lyrics. I really tried quite hard to not like him as he's tall, good looking and just a bit too clever for his own good but I can't resist anything he puts out.
Seems I need to check him out. The trashing after he left FF was merciless. Guess I bought into it. He really does sound like early EJ.
Blimey, the new FJM album has leaked, literally one day after it was announced for pre order. I believe the story is that iTunes cocked up and made it available a month early before it got pulled. Funny thing is I remember his last album, Pure Comedy, circulating ages before it was officially available.
