Ha ha tried to order tickets to McCartney. I was even willing to go to Canada if need be. Everything sold out in what seemed seconds. Probably longer but I tried to get on asap. I think I’m in queue #8,422 for the next drop.

Last Friday we did music night at work. My buddy loves Orbison, I do as well but I’m not dumb enough to try singing his stuff. My buddy insisted he got it down wanted to give it a go. Sure enough we sounded horrible. Luckily our audience isn’t picky and likes to hear us play but damn I have no problem admitting it was absolutely horrible.

I’m still embarrassed but hey we tried. Made a good comeback with the next song.

This was our comeback song thank goodness it saved us people like to sing along to “the walls came down” part so you can hide in their noise if need be.

First real concert I saw. I forget the year but they were already considered “old” at the time. I didn’t know what to expect as the guys who saw them in the 70’s were telling me they were washed up and I didn’t see the “real yes”. Anyway it was the original members and holy cow they blew me away. They just knew how to rock a coliseum. Sure I would have loved to seen prime yes in the 70’s but it would have been impossible. Regardless a band I will always remember and holy cow they must have been mind blowing in the 70’s as I found them mindblowing the few times I saw them, Anderson can’t hit those notes anymore but he did enough for music.

I had an appointment with someone at 1p this young African American girl was creating a ruckus demanding to see me early as some stuff went down she thought she was going to set me straight. So after her coming at me all hussy fussy I just said “look what happened yesterday already is done do you want to just start fresh do your assessment and we will just forget yesterday” I think she was disappointed I wouldn’t argue but I don’t have the time.

So after upsetting everyone in the waiting room she did a 180 and was very pleasant to talk to. Got into the hobbies and interest part she mentioned music, writing singing and playing. I asked her what the was workin on she said “Spanish Mary and I got it down perfect.” I offered her our in tune but kinda crappy in house acoustic. Asked her if she wanted to play. She got this big smile and asked where. I told her to go into the room where she had just pissed everyone off.

I swear to you she played it like an angel. Her voice really the guitar was clinky but omg the place was silent listening to her.

I love that it’s a song that Bob Dylan threw away and others make it sound beautiful. I like how the girl went from miserable to in another realm singing. No one expected that they already had her pegged as a miserable pain in the ass. You always gotta give people a chance and once again the power of music shines through. Damn that was nice.
