"I don't like this getting older stuff
Havin' to pee 50 times a day is bad enough
Got a naggin’ prostate and I got a bad back
And when I fυck too much I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack"

Sun Kill Moon, not the happiest thing around

Tonight, at Orchestra Hall, the Chicago Symphony Orch and chorus, et al., in Prokofiev's Ivan the Terrible, a cantata assembled from the music he composed for the Eisenstein film in the early 1940s. This is a shot from a few minutes before the beginning of the performance.

Act one: Temples. I especially like the second song.

Act two: LP (Laura Pergolizzi). Hard to find her stuff with just LP to search on but I persevered.

Discs arrived today. Two should have come yesterday but I think the AWS outage put the kibosh on that. Temples' released-today album Volcano is all synthpop but I like the last song, which was how I found them originally. As for LP, I just love that album.

Amazon streaming media isn't bad until you hear the originals. What a difference!

KT88 power valves (tubes)? Brilliant.

I have KT66s in a guitar amp but feel the need for 6C33C double triodes (there's a sixties MIG fighter somewhere with no radar....) for the Hi-Fi.

Am listening to Rag 'n' Bone man at the moment. Pre-ordered this vinyl album for my wife and it's consistently good.

Any Blind Willie Johnson or early Dylan fans will recognise this, although with modified lyrics... Not really typical of the rest of the album but caused me to cast my mind back to find where I knew it from.

Cheers, Chris

75 minutes on the treadmill. Made palatable by listening to Yaz and reveling in some 80s dance club nostalgia.
